Εβδομάδα 37: getting chased by angry men...take 2

Hey hey everyone! So lots of stories from this week but here are just a few... to recap tho, I'm not really a fan of Greek men. Especially the ones who freak out at us and are constantly hitting on us. Oh the joys of being sister missionaries in this foreign land, τι να σας πω χαχα;! 😅 We were on our way back home  Monday  night and headed down to the metro when this Greek man at the top of the escalator sees us, puts his hands up defensively and states, "Ορθόδοξη" (Orthodox). Then rudely laughs as we ignore him, switches to english, and then yells at us, "you marry your own sisters!" In which we still continue on our way, but he continues to go on. He proceeds to get on the escalator and at this point we both had already felt a really uneasy feeling about this man. We quickened up our pace and hurried to scan our metro cards and book it down the next escalator to the metro hoping to loose the guy that had yet to stop yelling at us. But now he was chasi

Γεια σας σε όλους! It's still goin over here on this side of the world! This week has both consisted of a lot, but also at the same time not a lot. Sister Campbell and I have decided to make it a goal of ours to get these branches self-running. Honestly without missionaries here, the branches, or even the church, wouldn't exist. Which means most of our missionary efforts are now geared and focused towards strengthening the members and getting all these less-actives back to church!  Highlights from the week:  •  BIRTHDAY PDAY! 🎈🎉  I hit the 2-0 and rang in the new decade by hiking to the highest point in Athens,  Λυκαβηττός , with all the missionaries! That was a pretty sweet view! Never woulda thought a year ago I'd be celebrating my 20th birthday in GREECE of all places! so that was one for the books ;) later in the afternoon, the missionaries threw a little surprise party for me so all together it was a fun memorable day! AND sister C had the missionaries wish m

HEY FRIENDS AND FAM!! Its official, I've hit  8 months  over here! Some of these weeks fly by and others it's just trying to keep busy each day. This was one of those weeks. I'm still adjusting to missionary life in Athens, we do finding all day everyday. And it's mentally exhausting honestly! It's really sad when we are just going around saying "hi" to everybody and they ask us, "do I know you??" In which we smile and tell them, "no we're just saying hi!" And then they're just like, "um okay" as if we're interrupting their day. I wish people were at least a little happier here to the point where it can be normal to simply say HI! Just a little realization I need share... Cockroaches are literally the devil's creation  I swear. I can do any bug but those.  THEY ARE NASTY . We've had a few gigantic ones pop out around our apartment and they only live for a few more seconds before a shoe gets thrown

Dearest everyone,  Officially back in Greece! And boy has it been a crazy week for many reasons. Mostly because I'm now with Sister Campbell ;) She's from New Mexico, in the good ole US of A... my 1st American companion! She's been out for about 10 months already so just a little more than me. We both left Cyprus together and are whitewashing our new area, Άγιος Δημήτριος, Athens. We're pretty similar in a lot of ways so it's been a really fun 1st week!  Also, Jimmer Fredette is in the English branch we attend now, way sweet. P-day in ΑΓΊΑ ΝΆΠΑ! (Ayia Napa: a resort at the far eastern end of the southern coast of Cyprus.) We couldn't swim, but we enjoyed walking around in the colorful fish filled waters and just soaking up every last second of Cyprus. Coolest mission ever. 🏝🐡🌍🦀🌺🌴☀️🐠 TRIO We arrived in Athens Monday night and were in a temporary trio with Sister Vennerholm. Being in a  trio is FUN STUFF  lemme tell you. After picking up a
