Εβδομάδα 16: Back 2 Athens 4 ZC!

Γειααα σε όλους!! *Heyyy everybody!!*

We had kinda a crazy week because we went back to Athens for Zone Conference! But besides that it was pretty much normal. Busy busy as always 😉

We got to meet with Μιλένα (Milena) with the Elders again! She loves loves LOVES the missionaries like her own kids! 😇 She also always asks about the members in our branch here, she is so cute. We prepare our lessons in Greek but then she reads everything in Russian because she understands that better, it's so cool! She's a recent convert so we still visit with her as often as her job allows us to. She invited Sister Merkel and I back over the same night to have dinner with her because she wanted to make us a Russian meal, it was different for sure but also really good! 😋

More and more BYU students keep showing up everywhere I swear! Nobody EVER recognizes the missionaries here so when we hear a group yelling, "MISSIONARIES! MISSIONARIES! MISSIONARIES!", and turn around to a group waving at us, it definitely makes our day! 😁 The BYU Jerusalem students came through this week and once again, what a small world because there was a good handful of them again that knew friends and fam from back home! We got together with all the students for ice-cream Tuesday night and it was so much fun! It was really nice to be surrounded by members again and a good reminder that there actually are members in the Church! It gets really hard sometimes having basically nobody here after coming from an American ward. Makes me even more grateful to be raised where the church is huge!

We had a lot of great lessons despite being gone for 2 days. One of which was with Μαρία (Maria), she's 13. We taught her about Heavenly Father's plan for us! She LOVES reading the Book of Mormon (BoM)! One night, right before she fell asleep, she read Alma 6-9. In her dream that night, she remembers a man coming to her and telling her the BoM was going to change her life. She woke up the next day knowing she needed and wanted to be baptized! But she said her dad won't let her because they're all Greek Orthodox. 😕 Her mom passed away so she loved the lesson we had for her. When we told her we knew where her mom was and that she was happy and she would see her again she lit up. You could see how comforting and such a tender thing it was for her to know that! 😊

We flew to Athens for ZONE CONFERENCE!! Beautiful city! It was so great to be with all the missionaries in Greece, all 21 of us! 😎 We had some really inspired messages about unity, purity & righteousness, and the Godhead. Top quote from this day... instead of "happy wife, happy life", it's "HAPPY COMPANION, HAPPY TRANSFER!" 😂

Read "The Music of the Gospel" by Elder Wilford W. Andersen from April 2015 Conference!! I promise you won't regret it!!

Thank you for all your emails and messages! Love you guys!

Love,
Sister Gale ❤
