Εβδομάδα 20: CONTENT CREW N DOOR KNOCKING??

HEY ALL!

So it was a bit of a different week then the normal missionary life we're used to. Sister Merkel and I, as well as the the zone leaders in Athens and Cyprus are on the Facebook content crew! Which means everything on the Greek and Cyprus FB pages is made by yours truly. 😇 It's really fun and right up my alley being an artsy, creative-ish person! We were put in charge of making a video for the Greek church page and have been working on filming that a lot this week since the deadline is coming up quick. We're really excited and hopefully it turns out as cool as we're picturing it! Grateful my friend Elder Ellsworth serving over in Thailand has good ideas and helped me figure out something fun, but we're basically just making a copycat of the Thailand church video haha but this ones all in GREEK! 😉 And then my pretty talented cousin Quinton said he'd help us put the video together since we have no time to figure out how to do that as missionaries Haha. The theme is MORE THROUGH CHRIST! We had members in Greece and Cyprus fill in the blank about what more they have found through Christ. More JOY, STRENGTH, DIRECTION, LOVE, HOPE, PEACE, UNITY... and the list goes on. But for all you reading this, what more has Christ brought into your life?! Always a good thing to reflect and ask yourself, there're so many things! ANYWAYSSS once that's all done I'll translate some of that and make sure to attach a link for y'all to watch!

So with all this filming we've been doing, we've been exploring more of Thessaloniki and going to areas we usually wouldn't to find places that people watching could recognize as Greece. And wow is Thessaloniki a completely different city 30 minutes up the mountain! It's so fun and colorful! EVERY place we filmed there was always someone who asked what we were doing and boom... missionary opportunities! The members with us loved it too because they got to see real life missionary action 😎 Sister Merkel and I have been having a hard time scheduling time for finding and have just been praying for opportunities in other ways and the Lord most definitely has delivered Haha.

The main street we were videoing on, an older guy came out of his home and just starting asking away. He pulled out some chairs and we all sat outside and talked with him about the gospel. His name is Γεωργός, he's 72. And then while we were talking with him, one of the neighbors upstairs popped their head out the window and asked what we were doing and Γεωργός responded to him and said "I'm talking to the Mormons!" Haha. He must have been interested in what we were doing because 5 minutes later that neighbor, Μιχάλης (mid 20s), came down and popped a squat and listened in on our discussion and seemed pretty interested. More neighbors continued to walk by with their dogs or groceries and Γεωργός always waved them over and told them to come listen to us, it was so funny. But yeah, we were pretty occupied for the next 1 1/2 hrs having a mini lessons with basically that entire street. It was so cool! We decided we might try door knocking for the 1st time around this place because it has a lot of potential! Also among the midst of all this, 2 older ladies were washing their car from the 3RD FLOOR! They had their hose going up there and were spraying their car down below, we got a good laugh about that, oh man I love Greece! 

Sister Merkel and I have been having a LOT of companionship studies about the second coming, it is SO COOL! And honestly a pretty crazy topic. We've already experienced so many adjustments in the church and as President Nelson tells us, this is just the beginning in preparing for the our Savior's return.

"Call upon the Lord, that his kingdom may go forth upon the earth, that the inhabitants thereof may receive it, and be prepared for the days to come, in the which the Son of Man shall come down in heaven, clothed in the brightness of his glory, to meet the kingdom of God which is set up on the earth"

The gathering of Israel is happening NOW. We are building His kingdom on this Earth and need to do everything we can to BE READY. I testify this is the Lord's work. He wants all of His children to call upon him, to know of His reality, that He lives, and He will come again!
