Eβδομάδα 1: "Blood Pudding" is no bueno

Γεια σας EVERYONE!!!

1st things first... I LOVE THE MTC AND I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!! It's seriously the best thing ever! England is SO PRETTY WOW. and so green! I'm also really happy to be out of the snow too haha.

We can only take pictures on p-day so there's a bunch at the bottom!

THE DAILY RUN THROUGHS!

TUESDAY 2.12.19
Long day of traveling...like longggggg. 16.5 hours today i think?? But I slept through most of my flights so it went by pretty quick, and yes i did make all 3 of my flights (; thankfully I met up with Elder Hawkins whose also going to my mission on my last flight from Amsterdam to Manchester. It was nice to actually be able to talk to someone and not be riding solo anymore!
I don't think I realized how social of a person I am until I was by myself for so long, think that's a good thing haha.

WEDNESDAY 2.13.19
Met up with the 1st group of missionaries! I found Sister Smith and Sister Wixom! We all took a long bus ride and finally made it to the MTC! There's only 55 of us here! All Wednesday we basically just all tried to stay awake because that was kinda hard with the time change. We had an optional devo that night, a lot of us went to bed early instead tho...I guess mostly the Americans. Everyone has an English accent, I love it! But there's also people from literally all over the world here too! Philippines, Peru, Italy, Wales, Fiji, Brazil, Spain, China, England, France, Tonga, and of course us AMERICA (;

THURSDAY 2.14.19
Full swing into classes! 6 HOURS OF GREEK-WOAH! but we don't have time to slack at all! I love my teachers! They all served in the Greece, Athens mission...WAY COOL. We have 406 words to memorize in 15 days! Plus lots of scriptures, our missionary purpose, the 1st vision, etc... I memorized Moroni 10:5 in Greek tho! That was especially hard because none of us could even read the language yet, so it was pure memorizing. But I enjoyed it! My district has 3 elders and 2 sisters! The elders are from Italy, Wales, and Dallas, TX. My companion is from Connecticut. She's really sweet!
We've been playing soccer (or fútbol as all the Americans have been getting good corrected to), except it's all in the muddy grass! Honestly so fun tho except my shoes are turning brown, whoops!

FRIDAY 2.15.19
More and more Greek... just Grammer and vocab and boy is there a lot. Ethan Ellsworth was right when he said we'd get wrecked the 1st few weeks! Brother Scharff said he'd bring British chocolate to class since apparently it's the best thing ever, but he loved the "American kit Kats" my mom sent with me to share with my district! Oh yeah, and of course the big missionary change announcement! We haven't even been out a week and we get to talk to our families YAY!

SATURDAY 2.16.19
Now my brain is just crammed with the language but it's fun! My district is so funny! I love having an english and Italian guy with us because they are hilarious! So many funny stories and differences about our cultures and we just laugh about it all.

SUNDAY 2.17.19
WOW what a spiritually packed day! From start to finish! We got to watch the provo mtc devotional and I saw a few of my friends in the choir and in the audience, that was way cool!

MONDAY 2.18.19
Uhhh didn't have time to write in my journal so it's kinda a blur, more Greek and the norm of mtc life.

TUESDAY 2.19.19
Pday! We went to the temple in the morning, it's was the best! Also the Preston temple is gorgeous...outside and inside!  We got to email throughout the day and talk to our families! Sorry if I didn't get back to all your emails! I get to read them whenever I get them tho so keep sending them and all the pics! (: I love them! A group of us walked to Chorley and kinda just explored, it was really fun! Again... England has so many cool things to see!

My week was full of so many spiritual experiences and I absolutely love it. One that really stands out to me was during the Joseph Smith video on Sunday when Emma asked Joseph "do you ever think God asks too much?" In which Joseph replies "I don't think about it". That really touched me, especially as a full time missionary now. It was a beautiful reminder to me that the Savior asks so little of us and in return blesses out lives so much. I am so grateful for the opportunity that I have to fully give myself to Him, and strive to fulfill my missionary purpose to invite others to come unto Christ each day. Part of my study this week was in Alma 26. I especially love verse 27. An understanding that the Lord will direct our path and give us success as we trust in Him is something everyone needs!

Love you all!

Love,
Aδελφή Gale

**Cute video of Sister Gale speaking Greek at end of photos

We got to chat with our Kaylee this morning!! It was so fun to hear her voice and see her smiling face!! A few things she told us...she is one of few sisters who will play soccer, bump, badminton during their "exercise" time. There are 3 floors to the MTC building: 1st-english speaking classrooms, dining room, exercise room; 2nd-language classrooms, large group meeting rooms, offices; 3rd-dormitories for missionaries. She said learning the language is hard, and that when she is "struggling" to speak greek-spanish comes to mind first (I told her this had happened to me when I was learning Cantonese in the MTC). Food: "Food is good, our chef is the BEST. He made a HUGE birthday cake that was SOOOO good. I think its some sorta specialty English cake. But the elder whos bday it was couldn't eat it cus he was allergic, whoops! Wee have a meal from a different place everyday... like a Spain meal, an english breakfast, thai food, american steak, fried rice (can't be Grandma's tho I miss that ALOT) etc. Everyone eats the same thing and we just go through the line and get it and then find a seat." She did tell me that sometimes the food is interesting, i.e. "They made this stuff out of PIG'S BLOOD!! No Way Mom!!" MTC Group/District: Sister Edwards van Miijen (Connecticut, where the Sandy Hook elementary shooting was), Elder Hawkins (Dallas, Texas), Elder Jensen (Whales), and Elder Peskuzzo  (Florence, Italy). English missionaries stay for 3 weeks, English language learners and German language learners stay for 6 weeks, Greek language learners: 9 weeks.  "I can say a simple prayer already! We can only pray in Greek now... in any meeting we're in too." She explained that they say the same prayer, "Thank Thees" and "Ask Thees" are always the same right now. She thought it was funny, because one thing they always ask for, "Help us to learn Greek" is even said when they are asked to pray for Large Group Meetings

Meeting up with Elder Hawkins was a definite blessing!!
