Εβδομάδα 9: MTC GRAD...I'M OUTTA HERE!!

WEEK 9 Monday, April 15th
Never thought the day would come but I'M FINALLY OUTTA HERE! Zero complaints there. We fly to Athens tomorrow and have 11 hours of traveling ahead of us, but at least I still got my district with me!

But yeah, next email y-all will get from me will be from Greece or Cyprus!

One of the questions I've gotten a few times these last few weeks here is "how are you still normal after 8/9 weeks?!" I laugh every time haha. I just tell them "well I came out here normal and I'm still gonna be myself!" Really glad people think I'm still normal tho (; if anything, I'm just becoming a better version of myself, and I'd take that any day.

Week 9 went pretty quick thankfully

WEDNESDAY 4.10.19
We had a Manchester testimony meeting! Sis Zhang and I were able to share our experiences and it was great. Thankful for technology and that we were able to translate for Sis Zhang. She is so sweet and I'm grateful to have had her as a companion in China town! Afterwards, Πρεσβύτερο Pascuzzo told me he didn't realize I couldn't speak Chinese haha. Apparently me writing "一二三四五" and "陳" on my desk and counting to 10 in Cantonese made me fluent... I wish!

FRIDAY 4.12.19
We talked to Πάβλος today! What a cool kid. He's 16 and from Athens! He got me really excited to meet and be friends with all the youth there and says they all, although there are very few of them, love the missionaries!! That's always good news!

SATURDAY 4.13.19
Σέμι...she's the real deal! First real investigator we had that doesn't speak English, little intimidating but I was more excited than anything! Αδελφή Rotterman (one of our teachers) set us up with her and has been messaging her for about a year now about the church, but has never actually talked with her. She told us we were the 1st group she felt like she could trust with Σέμι and that she was confident in us and our abilities to teach her. Our lesson with her went so great and we understood everything she was saying, SO CRAZY! She had many questions for us and we were able to answer them in the simple Greek we knew, and thankfully she said she could understand us. She's read the Book of Mormon and has a lot of hope that it is true because it brings a lot of happiness into her life. She is so close to baptism said she'd pray about a date to be baptized! Fingers crossed that we'll be able to meet up with her if we're ever in Θεσσαλονίκη (Thessaloniki)!

My spiritual thought this week comes from Moroni 10: 32-33 (:

In the Olympics, there might only be room for 1 person on the 1st place platform, but in Heaven, there is room for all of us. It isn't worth our time to compare ourselves to others. We each have our own stories and own paths, but ultimately we are all children of God and he loves us for the individuals we are. We aren't a perfect people, nor will be ever. But, I know we can all be perfect in Christ.

Love you all! Have a good week!
